C. Saratchand is currently Lecturer in Economics with Satyawati College, Delhi University.  C. Saratchand is a Heterodox  Economist by training and a teacher by profession. His major areas of interest include Heterodox Macroeconomics and Political Economy. Apart from his involvement in different democratic forums and progressive mass organizations in several parts of the country, he is also an hobbyist of the ‘Free Software Movement’. In order to facilitate the process of democratization of debate on development, along with Siba Sankar Mohanty and Masum Ali, he established CADRE and PRAXES: The Monthly Bulletin of CADRE in 2004. His present role with Network for Social Accountability (NSA) is that of an honorary Advisor on Macroeconomic issues.
