Greetings from Network for Social Accountability (NSA)!
On behalf of the Advisory Board of NSA we are pleased to inform you that we are going to continue the publication of PRAXES-The Quarterly Bulletin of NSA.
In 2004, a Delhi based outfit called Centre for Academic-Interface in Development for Reorganisation through Education (CADRE) initiated a publication namely “PRAXES-The Monthly Bulletin of CADRE” to propagate ideas against the neo-liberal ethos. Unfortunately, after four consecutive issues, the editors (C. Saratchand, Siba Sankar Mohanty and Masum Ali) had to abandon the project primarily due to resource constraints and scarcity of materials for publication. The bulletin in its small span of life was successful in highlighting some key gaps in the public policy paradigm in India and through its editorials and other write ups was instrumental in questioning the ‘India Shining Campaign’ launched by the then NDA Government at the Centre during 2004. Please click here to browse through and download all the articles published in PRAXES earlier. After more than four years, the bulletin is going to reappear in a new form from October 2008 onwards. The NSA advisory board is keen to continue publication of the Bulletin as an instrument to oppose neoliberal ideas and has taken necessary approval from the editors of its earlier version. However, instead of being a monthly bulletin, it shall initially be brought out as a quarterly bulletin of NSA and the publication materials for this shall be largely drawn from the policy briefs of NSA.
We take this opportunity to thank all the individuals and groups who had supported the earlier efforts made by PRAXES and we look forward their continuous support to establish PRAXES as a platform for open debate on public policy issues.
